From Mike Dutton.

Who am I #5

Hmmm. Once again I know this one. It's a bit obscure but let's see if anyone recognises this great talent.

I want to say Louis Prima, but it would be embarrassing to be that wrong.

Not Louis Prima, but a pretty good guess, Greg! It's more recent than that.

A few clues --

The artist is an American guitarist/singer born in 1978. In addition to a solo career, he has also spent time in one of the more famous bands to ever emerge from Austin, TX.

I seem to be the only one who may know so here is my answer. Nick Curran. He did a wonderful job of recording this song to make it resemble the sound of the 50's.

The original Nappy Brown recording btw was released in 1955.

Some video of Nick -- his voice is what really blows me away; kind of like a cross between Wynonie Harris and Esquerita. Nick was only 25 when he recorded "Don't Be Angry" and was about a year or so older in these video clips. The fist clip,Down Boy Down, is an old Wynonie Harris number. The second clip, taken from the same gig, is a cover of Bobby "Blue" Bland's It's My Life, Baby.
