Hi, had my 330MG since saturday and absolutely love it.

Only a couple of things put me off....after one song, or 3 minutes or so of playing, she goes right out of tune, usually every string is out at least by a bit as i take it all feeds off other strings at the bridge. And also, there is choking on the High E string, mainly at the 3rd fret. Rther annoying, and makes the pickups hard to hear the high e string at all.

Anyone else have this problem? The guitar was brand new out of the box, so dont think its been tampered with. Maybe just the change in temperature coming from the US to Scotland.

My mate had a 330 a wee while ago, he also noted the tuning problem, but i thought it was more likely to be a one off Rick rather than a common thing.

Yes the neck will move with the climate change. Let it settle for a few days then worry about getting it adjusted to dead flat. I wouldn't worry about the 3rd fret high E problem until the neck is straight and the bridge height set where you like it.

Don't forget to stretch the strings when bringing them up to tune. Sounds like it may need a bit of adjustment to saddle height. Don't mess with the truss rods until you've tried setting up the rest. Then check the neck--should be dead flat. If not, adjustment is called for. Search the topics in the RRF for "truss rod adjustment" and read up on it to decide if you want to give it a shot, or take it into a Rickenbacker savvy tech in your area.

Im not particularly bad at setting up guitars, id say tele's are my forte, but then they are relatively easy.

The strings feel a bit on the light side to me. Do the 330's come with 9's as standard? Im thinking of going up to 10's, see if that will sort the tuning issue a bit. The G string is the worst for it. And when that goes out it takes the B and E with it.
