Legacies - our 2nd recording

Actually, this is our first session, we dumped this track and hoped to re-record it in a better quality.
After listening to it we decided that although everything went bad - it was our most "alive" session for this song.
What went bad?
1. I had some issues with the sound interface so it recorded everything in 44.1kHz but said it was 96kHz so I had to manually adjust the speed.
2. There were a couple of large audio dropouts, one had 1/8 of a bar taken away - I reassembled the entire missing portion from other parts of the songs and fixed the other "cracked" part as well.
3. The bass was clipping 99% of the time as the balance was made with our guitarist playing and me doing the balance, I played a lot stronger apparently... some compression and waves L2 filter fixed most of it.
4. The lead singer's guitar was completely out of tune... can't fix that ;)

There it is - Legacies:

I played my 72' 4001 here

As usual - opinions, negative and positive are welcomed.

Actually, this came out rather good. Nice job "fixing it in the mix." This kind of correction can be laborious, but it's definitely good editing practice! Everything seemed pretty well balanced overall, and the out of tune guitar didn't really sound too out of tune to me. I think you masked this possible issue well by panning both guitars opposite of each other.

My only critique is a small one - the intro is a little long for my taste, but that's just my bias. The bass sounds great, and I like your note choices for the line. Cool song overall, too. I like how the dynamics build and how the songs ends on the loud driving section. Well done, sir! A successful save in my book!

I listened to it once so far but have been distracted. I will given a more critical listen later on today. So far, I like this one very much; great tone on your Rick! :D

As you say there are some rough aspects but good grief, it grooves really nicely! That's the most important thing, anyways. Once things build up to 00:50 I really get behind the whole tune. Lovely bass tone by the way.

Thanks for listening guys.
Bert: D'addario 40-95 rounds (prosteel), I replaced them with EXP coated strings now, they are a bit less bright but apparently they eat less through my frets...
Joshua: Thanks, we are going to re-record everything in our little studio, not the best quality out there but more than enough for our sketches.
