It seems like all of a sudden I can no longer download YouTube clips. Can anyone help with this?

It could be a number of known issues Kent.
If you have ad-blocking software enabled may not be able to see videos due to a conflict with youtubes flash detection code and, you might also try disabling any softwares like "Web Accelerator".
It may just be that Java has been updated and your old version was not deleted. youtube has a tutorial on this btw.
