New "music room"

This summer, my wife and I (and mostly a contractor) refurbished an old in-house garage in the basement of our house. Since we moved in 22 years ago, we had used it for storage. There was bare cinder-block walls, concrete floor, exposed ductwork, and a single bare bulb light fixture smack in the middle. Metal and plastic shelf units held all our spare and seasonal stuff, but mostly junk. It was the last part of the house that hadn't been remodeled and really needed it. After stud-walls and insulation, we had six closets installed with slide-by doors for storage, dry-wall with can lights, and carpeting. This room is now the "music room" which holds the Rickenbacker National Forest, and the CD collection (largely superseded by iTunes on the computer). I had a pickup band jamming in here last month, so there was enough room for a complete drum kit and five musicians. The largest of the six closets holds the instrument cases and amplifiers. I had Chris and Paul framed for inspiration. The Höfners are hung in the living room. Note the uncompleted five-string 4004Cii conversion. Enjoy!

No. We should have, but frankly we were embarrassed by its condition. With all the shelf units holding stuff, you couldn't even see the "room."

Nice room, Paul.

When is the next Confluence De Cedarburg?
Regarding the
uncompleted 4004Cii, I think you need to bridge that gap near the bottom of it.

When Shari & I do the work on our house, we document pretty much everything, before and after. The before is a good thing to have to justify the $$$$$ that went into the after!

Tony, don't dig to deep. Remember, you're in Florida, the state that floats!

Very nice Paul but..............................are there not any skinny stringed instruments in your collection?

Oh never mind, I like basses a lot too. That's a great room btw.

I have a full basement I'd like to convert at least part of into such a music room/man cave. Ah, someday...

Oh yeah, that's really nice! Nice collection of guitars with the proper string diameter too!
And yeah, I noticed that unfinished one right off. You'll have to keep us updated on its progress!
