It's in very nice condition for it's age. It it really still worth that much with a neck repair?
I'd love to give it a home, but right now I can't.

Its a beaut, I'd love to have it. I wonder why the re-issue pickups? Also are those knobs right for the period ?

This is really odd, but I was out on Mike Parks E-Classifieds, in the "For Sale" section earlier today. While scrolling down the listings, I came upon a bass listed early this year (last Jan) that I believe is the same bass. The guys email is Dr Distorto something or other, and I enquired about this bass back in Jan, and he sent me many detailed photos of what I believe are this bass. I couldn't afford what he wanted at the time, and I assumed he had sold the bass. If I can find those pics still on my hard drive I will compare the two, but the listing is for a '68 bass...

Gene, it,s the same bass and guy. I,ve spoke to him for over a year about this bass and was seriously thinking about buying. However I didn,t know about the neck repair and that both P/U,s had been switched. It,s real nice wood, and as ever I,m sure the playability is second to none..it will be interesting to see how much it goes for...

I was drooling over this as I was reading the description and then got more and more agitated as I realized almost every part on it had been changed out. The Jack, the pickups, the re-fret, he doesn't really show what kind of "neck repair" was done (hopefully not like those "it fell off a truck" jobs we have seen lately...) but, damn, I still want it! Look at the INLAY!!
Jeff, is this earlier than your '68FG?

If you look at the picture of the rear of the bass you can see a dark line under the headstock. I'm just guessing but it looks like the repairs seen on alot of g*bs*n guitars and basses, a crack below the headstock.

He says that he has the original pickups and will include them and also has the original mono jack and cloth coated wires and will also include those also.
