Well, the question states it all: Has it changed your view of The Beatles?

I've always loved them, but "Beatles Remastered" has found me listening to more Beatles and more solo Harrison/Lennon/McCartney lately. They've also been moved from my #3 favorite band to my #2.

It hasn't changed my view of them - Of course they always have been my favorite band.

Maybe I should be more jazzed about this, but I'm not...... eventually I'll get around to listening to these, but right now I dont see what the big deal is.
I'd be happy for someone to convince me otherwise.

Having the first four albums in stereo (as legitimate releases) is great, and they definitely do sound better than the 1987 CD issues. But I've had digital copies of the Dr. Ebberts series for years now, and added a tiny bit of high end to them (and a bit more bass), and the copies I have are as good as the new releases.

Yep, they have finally surpassed Todd Rundgren and moved into #32. I never thought I'd see the day.

Dr. Ebberts was a bootlegger who, unsatisfied with EMI's mastering of the Beatles' catalog on CD, remastered the albums in the 90's. Using pristine vinyl for a source (usually Japanese and German records), he had the means to remove pops, ticks, and rumble, resulting in a superior sounding disc. The series (all 24 bit CD transfers) included all the British releases in both mono and stereo, the U.S. Capitol releases that were different from the British albums (mono and stereo), plus other Beatles releases, such as the United Artists version of A Hard Day's Night and Vee Jay's Introducing the Beatles.

The Dr. Ebberts versions have been the standard among collectors for a number of years, and original Dr. Ebberts CDs are quite collectible. It's reported that when the new EMI remasters were about to come out, someone got a hold of advance releases of the discs and took them to Dr. Ebberts in order to get his opinion. Supposedly, he admitted that they were "quite good".

Nope, still my favorite band and the reason I became a bass player. I will say that the remastering has given me a new appreciation for their vocals, though.

i just purchased "revolver" and have been listening to it a lot. the vocals are really improved,as well as the guitar sound. it has been a pleasure hearing more detail,as well as the reimaging of the mix. i think i maybe was expecting a bit more in the bass department,though--it sounds good,but perhaps i am not so crazy about the use of the foam mute thingy as some folks....

Not when you've had the original vinyl stereo LP's for years.
