What are the main differences between the 4003 and the 4003S? The 4003 has the triangle fret inlays, vs. the 4003S dot inlays. And I see the 4003S has the old style pickup. Are the pickguards the same on both makes? Anything else?

4003= Ric O Sound. 4003S Mono.

No binding, dots instead of inlays. That's about it. 4003s had high gains like the regular 4003. You may have seen a V63 with the horseshoe and toaster.

I made a mistake in my list of Paul's Model of the Week basses and have been unable to find the time to correct that.

4003 Model of the Week Nine.

4003S Model of the Week Nine point Five

Hope this helps some.
