Definitely feel this is going to be an "Oh, of course!"...
Not sure if they ever even recorded, but possibly the Hawks? (i.e. the Band, pre-Bob Dylan)

Kira: Based on the silence of those that typically participate here, it looks as if you have the experts on the run. :)

I'm afraid that I've killed the series. :(

OK, a little clue: This snippet is from their only recording.

I've never heard of there being any around anywhere - it's not an outtake of the Traveling Wilburys is it?

Suggestions for clues:
nationality (could be "mixed")
approximate year of recording
whether any members of the group concerned are or ever were members of any of the groups mentioned in the answers to date....
Help! :? :)

OK, Nick, five members of mixed nationality, 1987, and two members were from the group that you guessed. That ought to make it easier. :)

Mmmmm...
This is definitely a good one.
I actually guessed two - Hawks and Wilburys. The first voice sounds to me rather like Levon Helm, the second like Jeff Lynne - and could even be George. I was going to say Ringo Starr's All Stars, but I think all those bands have been more than five members, haven't they?
Someone should get it with those clues...!

The second voice sounds like George Harrison, but to me the first sounds like Ronnie Hawkins, not Levon Helm. Way too deep & bluesy to be Helm, who was more nasal & country sounding.

n/m, I think Roy got it.

Silver Wilburys is right!

This from Wikipedia regarding this track: "George Harrison, Bob Dylan, John Fogerty, Taj Mahal, and Jesse Ed Davis, dubbed "The Silver Wilburys", performed the song live on February 19, 1987 at the Palomino Club in North Hollywood in California." The recording is available only as a bootleg.

Well done, Roy! Over to you. :)
