Sorry - I can't even come up with a guess... it inspires nothing in me at all... I suspect it may well be someone I've never heard of (like the Gentrys :) ).

I know who it is, but it took a little googling (at first I thought it was the Hives, but the singer diodn't sound right).
Therefore I will only reveal it if everyone has given up.
The band has been mentioned on this site before, but I don't think they use Rickenbackers, so I'm not sure why they came up.

Well done if this is the answer but frankly to have a band so obscure unless I am in a minority here will surely deter people from having a go.

I didn't think this category was limited to "Rickenbacker content." Please correct me if I'm wrong.

No, that's just where I had heard of them before.
It also reminded me to go check out more of their stuff. 8)

Ron you are not wrong this part of the forum is nothing to do with Rickenbackers more a general forum relating to a specific period

Roy, thanks for the clarification.

Admittedly #5 was very obscure because the artist [sic] was obscure. Several other entries in this thread and the "Who Am I" thread have also been (to me, anyway) obscure for various reasons.

BTW, is there a ready reference for determining what was on the "top 50" in the US or UK for '50s and '60s and, thus, would qualify for this thread? Some tunes, of course, are obvious but others may be on the margin.

Not sure if a ready reference online but if in doubt send me title first Ron.

On Who Am I it is a general music type quiz so I suppose obscure is going to happen, becuase this is 50s 60s based perhaps not as mnay will attempt it I have to bear in mind some a lot younger than me!!.

From my own perspective when setting this type of thing which I enjoy I found once they got too hard people lost interest question of finding right balance but thanks for supporting it.
