Some after-gig footnotes:
The place was most certainly not a-rocking, was nearly empty when we showed up to load in.A few peeps trickled in,mostly to drink and play darts. No dancers all night.1st break spent conversing with a nice couple,he'd just got in on leave from a tour in Iraqistan. They asked for Black Sabbath/Ozzy, we do none. but decided it give Paranoid a go;we pulled it off and it will be on our learn list now. Also had asked for Nugent, that was easy to fill with Stranglehold. And we made sure to thank him for serving our country.
There was one really appreciative bar sitter, who came over and gave a tip during set 3.Of the rest of the clientelle, we could see a lot of smiling and head bobbing;but no one got on the dance floor.
Last song over, the place emptied in seconds. No fawning, adoring fans that night.
Since the bar didn't make out too well, we decided to give back half of the payout.(The club has been struggling of late, there just isn't a lot of patronage. And we don't yet have a loyal following to drag in)
Final note: today at practice, drummerMark told me that the bouncer/ID checker/table wiper had really liked my 4003, and wished he could get one.But he was too polite or shy to come over and ask to hold/fondle mine.Who knows, I might have even let him.
