Hey all,

I managed to pick up a Rickenbacker Pete Townshend Ltd. Edition in it's original case for a very decent price recently.

I have a question for all you Rickenbacker experts out there.

The upper pickguard in the original clear plastic ltd. edition guard but the lower plastic is that opaque white **** that they switched over to at one point.

Does anyone know if this is how the guitar was shipped or is this lower guard likely to be a replacement?

I don't know whether these pictures will help, but they are what I have on hand at the moment:

and it has the same combination you described.

The **** is correct.

Surprising that they would mix the two guard styles but at least I have the best answer I could hope for now.
