Hello all: Not new to Ricks but new to this Forum:
I am just curious . I just recently acquired all 3 of these guitars . The C58 is 2009 the v59 is a 2002 and the c64 a 2006. I wasn't planning originally on buying all 3. What happened is the more I got involved with the seller the lower the prices went. I only bought all 3 because combined they cost me 1800.00 each. The v59 has a missing top pickguard and bridge cover. Other than that they all appear to be virtually un played.
I surely don't plan on keeping all 3 . I bought all 3 to decide which one maybe 2 I liked best.
I am currently waiting for a loom from Mr. G. L. . Initially my plans were to install that in the C58.
I haven't really attempted to make a decision yet. At least not based on sound. I just got them. At this point they all seem relatively the same from a sound standpoint. But I really haven't played much. I can hear the differences in the wood and the tone, but they all seem close enough in over all sound that I don't believe a non player listening could really tell a big difference.
Ultimately the decision is mine. More than likely I will keep just one, maybe 2. I definitely don't want or need or have the ability to afford to keep all of them. I feel I got a reasonable deal so I should be able to re-coup my $$$ on the one's I don't keep.
The c58 is Mapleglo and definably the prettiest. From a versatility standpoint in playing Beatles songs which is the best one to keep. I know the C58 and V59 will be the easiest to sell. But from video's and recordings I have seen and heard. Most of the songs they did. The Rick most used was the C64.
Like I said it's really going to boil down to the one that feels the best and sounds the most beatleish. I have no intention of using it for anything other than Beatle tunes. I have other guitars for other Music.
One last thing. He had purchased a set of 3, 7k toasters to install on the V59 and never did. He threw those in as well. Any input is appreciated. Will the loom I have coming only work for the C58?
oops bad at math ha ha It actually figures out closer to 1900 a piece. Still reasonable . Sorry about that.
Thanks
