New Musical Express Poll Winners concert in '65. Rics and Vox amps all around. Virtually every A-list British Invasion act was present for one spectacular show. Just unbelievable. Animals, Kinks, Stones, and Beatles all on one stage!?!?
Animals 'Boom Boom' - Hilton Valentine going crazy on with his RM
'Talkin' Bout You'
Beatles 'Baby's in Black', 'Ticket to Ride', 'Long Tall Sally':
Kinks (Pete Quaife on a lovely Ric bass ...and not so lovely backing vocals!):
Moody Blues (Denny Laine on his Rose Morris):
Herman's Hermits:
______________
Rickenbackerless bands...
Stones (no Rics, but you get a Vox and Les Paul):
Donovan (pre hippy dippiness):
Sounds Incorporated (gorgeous guitar and sax solos):
Dusty Springfield (+ Vox Mark IV)
Searchers (also Ric-less ...some guys have no taste):
Seekers:
Freddy and the Dreamers (that guy was nuts!):
Wayne Fontana & the Mindbenders:

Man... Denny Laine had everything going for him. Wonder why he never saw huge success as a solo artist (not that Wings guitarist is a bad gig... ).

Good stuff, Noel, but you missed out one:
Featuring: I Feel Fine (John on J-160E) and She's a Woman (Paul makes mention of John switching to his Ric, IIRC)
What "Really Got Me" (pun intended) was Pete Quaife's terrible backing vocals. God, he just couldn't harmonize, not like Paul or even Keith Richards (KR can't harmonize now). You can hear Ray's voice buried in the mix compared to Pete, and he just looks so angry during that whole performance.
The Who should have been here, but alas, they were recording "Anyway Anyhow Anywhere" as this performance took place.

Sounds Incorporated: Might that Gretsch 12-string be the mythical George Harrison Model prototype, reportedly a gift from George himself?

Talk about a helluva show.......you could nearly check off the entire "British Invasion" in one sitting. Amazing lineup (only missing The Who, sadly...)

Great stuff.
Find it humorous that Paul and George are singing into a dead mic until about the 3:00 minute mark during 'I Feel Fine'.
