WHO's Playing the Super Bowl 2010 Halftime show?

Heard that Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey are rocking out at the Super Bowl Halftime show. Can anyone confirm?

I wonder if Pete will use a 1993-12 like Tom Petty did at one of the last 2 Superbowls? That generated quite a bit of twittering at the time, even before "Twitter" was invented!

The term "Jumped the shark" is part of our popular culture.....That said, the Who jumped the shark many moons ago. Performing as Super Bowl halftime entertainment? Jumps ya across the whole ocean as far as I'm concerned.

Man, that's only about an hour and a half ride for me, but I'm not fighting those crowds for ANYTHING..........well, almost anyway!

The NFL still seems to be playing it safe with mainly baby boomer-era musical groups. I'm 47, but would honestly like to see something more recent now (Muse, etc.).
I remember reading a really good book about The Clash, and one guy close to them said "don't become the Who" - meaning a group that barely spoke with one another by the late 70's. I'm also not sure if there have been any recent projects out from the two surviving members other than live stuff. Oh well.
My guess is that Townsend plays a strat alas.

Of course he would. Anybody thinking he'd play another electric is dreaming.....Fender pays him to play Stratocasters, ya know.
