They need to ditch those Taylors and get a couple of Rickenbacker acoustics! :D

I'm a big fan of Matthew Sweet but he doesn't seem to like Rickenbackers that much. :(

It is surprising he does not play Rickenbackers considering that Matthew Sweet and Paul Chastain (the other guitarist in the video not Suzanna Hoffs) are big jangle poppers. I think they usually play Les Pauls when going electric. I was at the show in the video, it was last month at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, and it was all acoustic, no Rickenbackers anywhere.

Sweet had a couple of Rics that I know of, one 12 string that was aquired by a forum member and sold to another (I think). The other was a beautiful green one (that I think he was given by Rickenbacker?) that was snapped up cheap on Ebay by Oliviers, and then sold on for twice the price.

He tends to play either a Gibson 335/epiphone casino on stage and he now has a cool Fender 12 string. (But not as cool as a Ric!)

I've seen both him and Steve Earle swinging the stripped Revolution Casinos over the last, say, decade. Sweet even KISSED his as the song was fading out on a late night TV performance (which I thought to be quite cool).

The man is one of the most under rated song writers of the last 20 years. It's a shame he hates flying so much! I've only seen him here in the UK once which was about 5 or 6 years ago now.

I saw Sid and Suzy at the Old Town School in Chicago in September. It was a great show. They encouraged questions from the audience, so there was a lot of back and forth. It was like playin' in the living room, doin' covers with your friends. They talked about having their gear stolen in NYC the night before, so maybe some of the guitars are new or substitutes. Some other geeky guy beat me to the punch and asked her about the Ricks. Not much new info, most of which has been published previously.

No problem. I thought a lot of people would get a kick out of it.

They just played here in Alexandria, VA but it didn't work out for me to see them.
