"Official" Recession is One Year Old

Not sure if this is "news"
but the Associated Press reported today, December 1, 2009 that:
"One Year Ago: The National Bureau of Economic Research officially declared the U.S. to be in a Recession; the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 679 points to end a five day win streak."
As if most of us didn't know it from that empty feeling in the wallet....

We haven't had an "official" recession down here yet.... and maybe we'll miss that boat entirely.

Well....you guys might have it after we're done.
Everything
does go backwards down there, ya know......toilets flush the wrong way, and your winter is during the summer etc.

It just occurred to me...is that the sound we hear in the bridge of "Yellow Submarine" that I previously thought was Ringo coughing up a whole hard-boiled egg?

That's no laughing matter...toilets shouldn't flush up... that's just plain wrong!!!
I heard that they install their toilets on the ceiling to compensate for that effect.
It all works out in the end.

Or does it imply that "Recession" is synonymous with everything going down (er, up) the toilet ?
