I don't have any quality pics of my Ricks, but I just wanted to say that those who have posted them have done some great photography!

There's no reason that you, too, couldn't learn to do the same.

Decent digital cameras are muy cheapo these days, so with a little practice and a few tips anyone can produce pleasing pics.

One can get really good pictures on some older models, too. I took this 'artsy' shot on my older Olympus D-400Z:

I've found that I can technically do the right things to get a good picture (sometimes with a bunch of help), but what I have the most trouble with is composing the shot so that I take a picture that's actually interesting instead of just a crummy shapshot...

To get better at composition just look at lots of photos and analyze them.

Yeah, I try to do that, but I'm lacking one critical thing -- practice!

I've tried, and I just can get a decent shot from my digital camera (or any other for that matter <smile>). I work in Graphic Arts, but on the technical side. My only creative outlet is music, which I feel is great, although some "artists" might disagree.

My wife is an Art Director, so I'll have to ask her (she's an artist that appreciates music, but she bought a Fender. A good guitar, but, well, you know).
