Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. I see it has 345-J in the body but isn't this a 330 FJ model? I'm sure the finish is original. You can see a shadow under the pick guard area, it has minor checking and it black lights as a 60's guitar should. Original frets and the pots all match to 66.

The control cavity numbers are an internal Rick Factory code, and not an indicator of the standard model designation. That's definitely an old factory 330 model.

Yup, a garden variety 330. (nice one though!)

They marked the bodies before any hardware had been designated to the guitar, so they were usually marked for the "maximum potential" of what they could be.....ie 3 pickups and a vibrato, regardless of if they ended up there or not. It'll even say 345 on many 12 strings.

Just another reason why you can't take any markings under the pickguard as useable information.

A 330 which dates to November, 1966, And yes, the finish appears to be original.

Man love the way the Pink under the Pickguard has softened to that beautiful amber!!

John, that is one of the best pics showing the original FG versus the aged FG. All those pinky's from the 90's and early 00's are gong to turn out great someday!

Any chance you can add that control cavity pic to the Register? I think if we get a 1000 of these type of pics, some good patterns will emerge.
