That was an interesting article, Nick, thanks. Only thing I wouldn't agree with is Cleave's feeling that John's looks were against him. Although he didn't obviously
have the "pretty" boy looks of Paul - I think he was very attractive for a man and I'm sure millions of screaming girls of that heyday period of the Beatles would certainly agree. Had a lot of strength and character in his facial looks. The fact that each Beatle looked so different from eachother - made them so unique and enjoyable to watch. In today's TV, movies, performers, etc. - almost everyone looks basically the same! Man or woman. The "industry" seems to only seek out the same "type" in terms of looks nowadays, with little varience.
