Am I late to the game by finding this? I had never heard it before. I dig it though.

I heard this a few months back. Absolutely awesome! This is the way it should have been.

I guess it was either-or because some of the source material overlaps with #9, and they opted for the avant-garde piece and canned this. Too bad, IMO, this knocks the socks off of the official release of #1.
But I'm glad we have the single version the way it is. Its directness and raw power place it on my short list forever.

The last half or third I found a little tiresome. And curmudgeon-like I have to say I like the real up-tempo, rockin' version best.

I still like the original better for the album, but I definitely think this take should have been on the Anthology.

Ear of the beholder.
This could have taken the place of Revolutions 1 *and* 9.

I can live without #9.

Imo this is too long and boring for Anthology... interesting to hear once, but nothing really great.
So far I haven't seen the bootleg (mentioned in the linked site) on which this can be found at my bootleg source. I should go to Belgium soon to stock some Swingin' Pig beatle boots... they always do well on the 'Bay!

In my opinion, most of the compilations of random sounds, noise, and such is just plain boring. I suppose if one were sufficiently tripped out on LSD or such, these would be
FAR more exciting...

There's some pretty amazing stuff on that site .
I got 72 minutes into that legendary Robert Frank documentary on the Stones ( C*cks*cker Blues ) and then it told me I was going to have to wait 54 minutes before I could watch any more ...
Always wanted to see that for some reason ...
