This may have been covered here before so if it has, my apologies as I haven't posted much in a while. But has RIC announced what the replacement will be for the C64 in the catalog yet? I've heard lots of possibilities but nothing concrete. I've heard that they had done some RM 1999 RI's for the Japan market. Just wondering. Thanks.

No news yet. We're all wondering if something will be announced during NAMM.

If there is anything new from RIC, it will most likely get posted on the company site's "Recent News" page either by the end of the day today or sometime tomorrow.

I was thinking that too, as well as the possibility that news might have leaked out.
I suppose we'll all have to just stay tuned.

RIC is quite good at not having any leaks.

So... uh... that puddle under my 4003 case must be from the dog?

Apparently NAMM = nothing new. (

But part of me is happy about that announcement. Sounds like RIC is just going to keep working on the backlog. Seems smart to me.

Chris at POTR said they were going to be pumping out 4003's at a record rate this January. Gotta fill the backlog and go with what sells I suppose.

Right, but that's today...and they do have a pretty good sense of humor, so I won't believe til the reports roll in tomorrow.

+1. I wonder short of doubling the machinery/tooling if they will ever catch up... More artists are using RIcks today than in the recent past and that drives demand.

At least there hasn't been a price increase this year.

Considering the backlog and that there is nothing new at NAMM, the wait to see what comes after the C64 could be another year. I just thought it would be interesting to see what it might be. RM 1999, (kind of doubt it since the C64 was so close to that) 4001V68,(that would be nice) 4002, (that would be a very popular choice I think , but hardly an overlap to the C64 IMHO) I kick myself though for not getting one when they were in production. I may be wrong on this, but outside of a 60's RIC bass, these seem to be the hardest to find and come at premium prices when they do pop up.
Oh well. The wait and the speculation continues. Thanks guys for indulging my curiosity.
