I have begun to look for a 4001v63 and am wondering what is the price range for this model?

Let's put it this way: I bought my '88 V63MG in 2002 used for $1500, so it's a good bet you can expect to pay quite a bit more than that today.

I paid around $1800 for a mint condition 2001 4001v63JG last month from a store in Japan (which are normally quite high). Does this have the thick neck? I have no way to compare. They've also got some new RM1999s for about $3600.

Fantastic bass but I think it would be an example of an over priced 4001v63. Especially in this slow economical situation.

Up again, and yes too pricey. I've played that one in the store. Typical '91 neck, slimmer than the one on my '93 V63. Very nice shape and feel.

not sure why that number sticks out, but I'd be surprised that they didn't sell upon release.....

I need to get another MG V63 someday! That one looks nice, but is way too much!

Actually, I just did a search and came up with TEN (reissue) 1999 FG basses for sale in Japan right now.
