4001 Nut Slot Gauges

What were 70s 4001s gauged at the nut in order to accommodate various strings? On my 4001FL they seem a bit bigger than what new 4003s have. I'd like to know because I'm considering "heavy gauge" tapewound strings... Thanks.

I bought it from an NM seller on eBay originally for $1000, but I got a partial refund on the price because he didn't disclose a few blemishes etc. What he paid me back will allow me to restore it properly.

Ah - there's another one (for more) in Scottsdale AZ. I played that one and it is a nice feel. Congrats.
