How's everybody doing? It's been a real corker here in the Bay Area tonight, and still not over.

Wow! I would have never thought that the worst actually passed to the south of us. At about 4 am, the rain was so loud on the roof it woke me up. We could hear distant thunder, too--a rarity here. It's stopped raining, but the part-time waterfall next to the house is going strong...

Driving back from NAMM, we left Anaheim at 2:30 in light drizzle. By the time we were on the Grapevine two hours later, it was a downpour and I had my fingers crossed that there would be rain (not snow) at the higher elevations. I got stuck in a blizzard back in January of '86 and we had to spend the night in the car then. Fortunately, the temps held and we made it home, driving mostly through heavy rain, by 11:00 p.m.

I guess it is becoming a hard winter all over the US. We've had record amounts of snow here on the central Plains. I personally don't remember this much snow since '84-5, or maybe the winter of '78-9.

We had monsoon like rain and wind down here in Anaheim yesterday! Even Shari & I , brave souls that we are, decided to stay in instead of walking across the street to the Gardenwalk.

Normally storms like Kira experienced find their way inland and we get a modified version of what happened in the lower mainland (Vancouver) a day later. We appear to have missed this storm front all together. Personally I am thankful for that. :D

Well, the experience is still going strong here five hours after my original post. This front has been just sitting and swirling around. I did manage to get a couple of hours sleep somehow. :(

It's been a much harder winter than usual.

During the holidays, when both of my boys were to visit, one got stuck on Interstate 20 for nearly 36 hours, and the other got stuck at DFW airport for the same amount of time. Texas isn't equipped for snowfall of any amount, and the snows here aren't like any I experienced when living in the Sierras. Like what is probably occurring today in N. California.

The sun is actually out now, but a new front is approaching from a couple of hours away. Sheesh!

We're getting slammed right now in Southern California! Hard rain, big wind, lightning, thunder, the whole deal. It's very dark outside.

Been going on for about an hour.

Monday's rain had to be about the hardest I've seen in So.Cal. And they say the worst is yet to come. Lots of worse things happening to people in the world though, so can't say it's terrible.
Actually, I'm digging the rain. If I could transfer, I'd move up to Washington State in a heartbeat.

I hope you're all OK there.

Remember though, if it didn't rain there would be no beer!!!!

Looks like the weather has gone crazy, after 43C last week here, it was 20C on Monday with a light dusting of snow on the ranges to the north east.

My three dogs were checking their P-mail this morning and I believe they think it was all Spam related material. Obviously they were quite disinterested in what was in their inbox. It's hard to tell with my dogs though..............they never say much. :D
