Here is a fantastic cover version of the Stones Classic, performed by Ash Naylor, Vanessa Amorosi and the Rockwiz Orkestra on the TV show Rockwiz here last Saturday.

Enjoy :D

Trivia: who is it that is referred to as "walking in dressed up just like a Union Jack?"

Hint: a certain very hard rock guitarist used to play in his band and later played with a bass player who used a 4001.

Oh, and nice cut - that was kickin'.

.

You implying Townshend?

The lyric is actually "Then in flies a guy dressed up just like a Union Jack, and says I've won five pounds if I have his kind of detergent pack"

...but I don't think it's really about Pete Townshend.

No, it's not Townshend, although envisioning him in a Union Jack isn't terribly difficult. And yes, the lyrics are a bit different from the original, but the reference remains.

Keep in mind that the guitarist who later played with a bass player who played a 4001 (OK, not the whole time) isn't the guy in the Union Jack that the lyric is about. The guitarist played in Mr. Union Jack's band prior to playing with Mr. 4001.

Cool cover. Looking at other performances I found this guy channeling the Who like no one I've seen before. Wow!

That's all terribly confusing, but is the man dressed up like a Union Jack Screaming Lord Sutch, the guitarist being Richie Blackmore and the Mr 4001 being Roger Glover?

Nice, until he played a note, I was gonna call him for being the biggest Townshend ripoff ever....then he started playing a Who cover! Now I see... :)
