Reunion week

Hey everybody. Sorry I haven't rapped at ya in a while. Been busy with the bands, and depreciating about 3 billion dollars worth of corporate assets, you know, stuff.

Thought I'd save my 5,000th post for something really neat. Thursday was a really cool day. I received my '64 1000 back from Paul W. Some of you may remember the original thread here:

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=295482

It arrived on Thursday, just in time for an It Rhymes With Orange gig at Tampa's fabulous Pegasus Lounge. As you can see in the photos below, Paul did a great job refinishing this formerly jetglo guitar in a very nice, very metallic, very cool Cloverfield Green. Some special touches include the body/wing notches at the bottom, the natural neck/headstock stripe a la the 50's and more recently the Atlantis, and the gold TRC and guard. It's equipped with a hot rod toaster with lots of punch.

Completing my ensemble is the turquoise necktie custom-made especially for me by Diane Vasco, to match. What do you think?

Nice guitar. I especially like the matching tie. That's a subtle but clever touch, I think.

That's one small guitar! Kinda reminds me of the old AMC Gremlin commercial: "Hey, toots, where's the rest of your car?"

Was the 1000 one of the "student" models from back then? Beautiful color!

Thanks everybody. If you. Would like to hear this guitar, just go to RRF CD1 and listen to the second half solo on May/June. It is 5 serials away from the 64 1000 JG in the Bacon/Day book. And yes, it's a student model with 18 frets. The Vibratone is. Now something of a living room only piece, as now that it works again, I would like to keep it that way.
