I've been using my 330-12 string quite a bit lately on gigs, along with the Janglebox, and I'm usually in McGuinn/Harrison heaven as a result, but I'm having a problem with feedback. My normal volume setting on the Hot Rod Deluxe is about 3.5, treble on 2:00, bass on 3:00 and about 2:00 on mids. I get uncontrollable squealing feedback immediately. The guitar has new issue toasters. I have to fiddle with the Janglebox as well, turning down the gain. I also use an MXR volume boost for solos.

So, I find myself turning down the volume to about 2.5, and cranking the volume on the MXR so the guitar will cut through, and even then, I'm not sure I am cutting through.

Anybody have any solutions or explanations?

If you've got the toasters mounted with the grommets, you might try switching them for the foam pads to cut down any microphonics in the pickups.

Bob --- I get feedback if I have the "Gain" knob up too high on my Janglebox.

And by the way, I've tried the JB with more than half a dozen different amps -- so its defineitely the Gain on the JB and not a particular amp.

I think you'll have to experiment with your amp settings, for perfect levels without the JB and then try the JB with 11 o'clock, 12 o'clock, 1 o'clock etc. on the Gain ....until you find your maximum level before feedback at the best practical amp setting.

I always had feedback issues using the JB with my former Fender amp. It never feeds-back through the Boogie even at higher volumes. I always thought that it might have to do with the fact that the Fender amps are voiced on the bright side, add that to the bright circuit on the JB along with the full hollow body of a C63. All of this may be a formula for feeback.
