HELP THE CURMUDGE TO WIN!!!

I entered my handbuilt, flame-painted VW Woodie into the NY Times "Collectible Car of the Year" contest this year.

To my surprise, it's one of the most popular, and stands a good chance of winning the $5K grand prize. If it wins, I'm going to use the money to ship it from where I built it--Brasil--back to San Francisco, so we can drive it more frequently!

PLEASE VOTE. Here's the link:

NOTE: All you need to do is log on and rate the car 5 stars. This constitutes a vote.

Thanks, RRFers!

Just did so, but the page says every time I try:
"Submission Confirmation
There was an error saving your information, please try again."
:(

Anyway, I just love that "folxwaggon"! Would make a perfect family van for us. :D

I had the same problem, but eventually it accepted my submission. However, I've yet to see my comment or vote appear.

Done.
Love the car - when I win the lottery, I am going to send you a 330 to convert to a lightshow and a Karmann Ghia to customize.

Apparently voting is limited to USA residents...

Or those that can disguise the fact that they aren't in the US.

Sort of like how I can listen to Pandora at work.

I had to persevere on the NY Times website last night to rate the car: I registered but then the NY Times website wouldn't take me to a "Rate" the car page - it kept taking me to a page to "Submit" a new car. I ultimately had to close the browser tab and then visit the page again - *then* the "Rate" option and comment form to rate the car appeared for me right on the page with photos.

So, if you don't see the "Rate this car" drop-down box and comment form, exit the page and re-enter.

Thanks for persevering, Clement!

Fingers crossed here. Contest closes at end of this month.

As they say in Chicago, "Vote early. Vote often".

Well, actually, you can only vote once...

I had no trouble from Canada, but I had to wait a day until the vote showed up in the comments list.
Good luck, Paul.

I had to register for the NYT online, then register again (same username and password) to submit a car entry, clicked the box "none" and submit. Then a box opened up bottom left for voting and comment.

There is quite a story accompanying that car, Paul.

Good luck and may the most flamed VW win!

Thanks, Ron.

Anyone who wants to see some really iconoclastic VWs, check out:

www.Volksrods.com

There's a new aesthetic cropping up. It's a hybrid of fenderless roadster street rodding, black primer/rat rod punk, and VW, and it's really full of original thinking. Wish I had the time to indulge.
