Current Artist Series - Week 6

This week, we have a sampling from an L.A. band that was formed in 2006. The band is comprised of Mikel Jollett (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Steven Chen (guitar, keyboards), Noah Harmon (bass), Daren Taylor (drums) and Anna Bulbrook (viola, keyboards, tambourine, backing vocals). The band is called The Airborne Toxic Event.
The name comes from a section of the book White Noise by Don DeLillo. Not really a great book, in my opinion, seems like one of those books you're required to read in a modern literature course...
Anyway, enough with the reviews, let's turn to some music. This is probably their most popular piece and the one most people have heard due to all the air time it's gets these days:
This one's kinda fun, with a completely different feel:
While they may not play Ricks, at the bassist can play a "fretless" fairly well. Not really surprising since Noah Harmon holds a jazz degree in upright bass performance from the California Institute of Arts:
