Big Wallace and Gromit fan here. My daughter tells me I look like Wallace...
I originally moved to LA back in the late '70s to work in the movie industry, doing effects. I interviewed with two of the big effects houses and was quickly (dis) abused of this notion. The owners--buddies and heavy competitors for the same business--were both complete jerks. Uh-uh.
So...eventually I went on my own, met some cool people in the prop biz, and ended up contributing to lots of movies. While we're on the subject of Avatar, a chair that I built back in the early '90s turned up in one scene. It's a modified version of the chair I did for
Batman Returns, which also is seen in one of the
Austin Powers films. I also did stuff for
Demolition Man and the
Revenge of the Nerds series and worked on
Knight Rider and
Airwolf.
Great cinema/TV, all of it...
Now everything's CGI. Sadly, Aardman's warehouse space in Bristol, UK was destroyed by fire a few years back, so much of the history of W & G is lost forever...

Gromit is the better looking of the two.

Cool info, Paul! As Johnny Carson would say, "I did not know that!"
