Fretless Bass Forum = Tasty

Greetings!
This is my first post, as I just became a member yesterday. I've been playing bass for 27 years, 24 of them fretless only. Needless to say, I was geeked to find this forum. For the last 10 years, I've owned only one bass - my custom 5-string fretless Benavente. In the last year, I got the hankering to get back into a good 'ol 4-string fretted.
My earliest rock idols were Geddy Lee, Paul McCartney, Chris Squire, John Deacon, etc... Of course, the former 3 are responsible for my Ric obsession. I used to draw pictures of Geddy's 4001 when I was a kid in school. I've always dreamed of owning a Ric. So, two weeks ago, I became the proud owner of a MID 4003 (fretted). I've been playing it constantly, and I'm so happy to have her.
However, after reading posts from all you fellow fretless freaks, and also after flipping out over how beautifully this Ric plays, I've now a serious hankering to get my grubby hands on a fretless 4003. Is anyone aware if Ric will make a fingerboard without inlays (dot or otherwise)?
Thanks in advance for any input. Don't get me wrong, the inlays are just fine, and I'm all over it. I'm simply curious. And if anyone's interested, you can see pictures of my new Ric using the below link (there's also a couple pictures of my Benavente fretless).

I look forward to adding a 4003 FL to the family soon!
Peace.
