Scuse the newbie question...660/620

Pros and cons of each? A dear friend has been filling me in a bit.
Never had my hands on one, btu they sound cool as 12's, though I'm considering a 6 string.
(cant see a 12 working for my band's music all that well).
So, i get the neck is narrower on the 620, I take it that it's sort of narrow all the way down.
The 660 is bigger. I must admit I like the appointments on the 660, but money being what it is...
I"m predominantly a player of Thorn guitars, neck shapes very PRS like, but I'm also a bit of a telecaster junky.
Can anyone sort of compare/contrast neck shapes for me verses say PRS W/F or regular neck, or Fender 52 tele type shapes? That may help me make a decision.
Any pictures would be great too. It's really hard finding sound clips of 660's and 620's that aren't 12 strings, so suggested recordings would be great too.
Thanks for tolerating me!

Mike, welcome!
I can't answer all of your questions, but there are a couple of approaches I can suggest. First, use the search function to find threads where 660s and 620s were discussed. I believe there was a compare and contrast thread within the last few months.
For pictures, go to "Rickenbacker Register" in the upper right of this screen, go to "advanced search" and enter the model number and you'll see a number of hits come up. The ones with IMG on the right have at least one photo of that instrument.

I think you're being enirely too technical about this decision. You already know one neck's wider than the other, so the appropriate deciding factors are:
1) Do you think checkered binding looks cooler than the plain white?
2) Do you like the look of toaster topped pickups or hi gains more?
Once you make your mind up about those two factors, you'll be happy with whichever guitar you buy.

Decide on the neck width...almost everything else can be changed.

Well, unfortunately I've had wrist surgery so I'm a bit picky about neck shapes/angles.
I really do need to play one.
I'm thinking 660 just cause it's sexier and has toasters. (and a wider neck)

There's got to be forumites in the bay area that could get together with you to try some geetars. Come on guys & gals, where are you?

As far as the necks go you need to keep in mind that the string width at the bridge is the same (or close to it). Therefore there is less taper to a 660 neck. If you want it closer to a Tele don't discount the 650. The 650 has wider spacing at the bridge but also sports a 24 fret neck and HB pickups.
Oh, and welcome to the forum Mike.

+1!
Depending on your level of patience, you could wait until August and come down to Orange County for the Confluence ... there will be a number of 600 series guitars that you could try out.
