Here is a lesson for beginners (pick & electric players as well) on the intro of “Rio Ancho”
also called “Mediterranean Sundance”
The super guitar trio
John Mclaughlin,Paco De Lucia and Al di Meola
played this tune in their wonderful live record 1981:
“Friday night in San Francisco”

Then on the intermediate level here is the lesson
(also to give an idea how will increase the speed etc)

Here is the whole piece interpreted on concert live
with my sextet
(so that you can hear how it sounds with electric bass, flute, sax and percussions)
http://www.rdiaz.org/rdvideo160.html
And here is a different arrangement, with upright bass I played along with my students recently at the Conservatory:

some useful scale fingerings (on modes)
by Paco De Lucia that you can use
to improvise on this piece, are here:

and I hope you enjoy learning & playing this rumba on any kind of guitar either acoustic or nylon string & with fingers or pick…
