Got to say after a good few months my Rickenbacker strap has finally broken in the respect that the leather has softened due to use.Now i do like the strap its comfortable but i really dislike the metal buckle as i always seem to clunk it off the guitar when putting it down.I should probably just wrap some tape round it to solve this or indeed be a bit more careful i suppose.Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I dunno Scotty , maybe you could convert it to a belt for yer pants

Another option is to get a piece of double sided velcro and wrap it around the buckle , that would give you an easily removable soft protective surface and might look a little better than the tape.

You could always take it to a leather shop (sorry,,, 'shoppe' to all you UK people) that can sew leather. Have them remove the buckle and sew the end on. They could even cut a couple of extra button holes on the end so the length could still be adjusted.
