Great idea for a doubleneck -- combine a short-scale 6 and a baritone 6 (or is that a 6-string bass?). You can switch back and forth . . . without even changing guitars. The perfect setup for The King.
Brilliant!

Isn't the full scale a baritone?

I'd say judging by the tuning keys it's a bass.

i found it at my local grocery store . when i saw the gibson doubleneck guitar/ and bass 6, i thought that's a cool idea and wondered if it was artist fantasy or did gibson ever make these. so i bought it just to show you guys, with the great help of jeff, yet again !

elvis is not playing it though. and the band member strums the bass side like a guitar. so baritone it probably is. and i've seen a pic with steve howe holding and sg body with that same baritone neck around the start of asia time period.

Hey-----I have that movie.
That one is a ripoff though. I picked it up for $2.99. Gotta say, i'm not a huge Elvis (film) fan, but Spinout is a great one.
Loads of cool guitar gear too.

Gibson DID make this. Double Bass (EBSF-1250)
Look here for more info.

I had an Aria copy of one and I sold it. It was NICE. Apparently the numbers on the Gibsons are lower than 100, made 1963-68. the F in the model number means it had a "fuzz" circuit in it.

i guess gibson had no choice but to use regular humbuckers as they never developed a six string bass pickup and had to use them for the baritone side. that's a cool combo. keeps it slim on that side instead of those huge pickups and mini humbuckers.

Collin, you like cars, you like bikinis, right?
Then you want to find "Clambake", from '68...if only for the opening helicopter shots of Elvis (stand-in) driving the legendary '59 Corvette Sting Ray show/race car on Highway 1 through the Keys. This is the period of time when Bill Mitchell commandeered the SR for his own use, and had the GM shops install a ZR-1 big block and eight huge Weber carbs under a plexiglas hood scoop, and painted the car Candy Apple Red. He drove it daily, weather permitting, from his house to GM Tech.
In 1992, I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days at GM Tech, researching the car's history. They have a copy of "Clambake" in 35mm theatrical release, in the rare book room in the GM library. It is available on DVD, of course.
Yeah, there's some gurlz (now grandmas!) in bikinis sprinkled here and there throughout the "film", too...

It's probably just me, but I always cringe when I see an guitar with the strap tied unnecessarily to the headstock. As much as this instrument must weight, that's gotta have some negative long-term effects. No?

Yeah, but the one pictured here is a 4 string bass. Was the 6 string a one-off?

Steve howe has an EB-6 which is the 6 string version of the Eb-3. He used it on "The Steve Howe Album"
It sounded rather good actually....
