$4,552 - very impressive. And I thought my measly $3K would get me in the running this morning - I was shut out before I even logged in lol.

Hope it's someone here - it's a beautiful piece.

If I didn't just plan a McCartney UK holday that would have been mine or at least would have driven up the price...

Beautiful bass, so congrats if it went to someone here.

The craziness of eBay never ceases to amaze me ... what possible logic can there be for including the items in the 'sponsored links' part of the ad view?

Hmm. What I get is "Recommended for you" and they're all Rick bass items. Must be something in your search thread?

One of those lever handles might be the perfect thing for screwing onto that nice headstock and making your own, home-made drop-D tuner.......
What a lovely instrument, though I must admit that the first question that came to mind was why this sort of thing isn't available on a regular basis as part of the line? They obviously didn't have any trouble selling it. I know all the stock reasons, backlog, small company, American made, etc. - but if it's worth producing a few 381s here and there with some fancy stuff on them, it would be nice to have a really nicely appointed bass available as well.

Another reason why not might be that the buyer who just payed $4552 would have just been shafted out of ~$2,000.
Can we have everything louder than everything else?
