The Maestro Fuzz Tone

I played a Boss FZ-5 pedal today and completely bypassed the Fuzz Face option/modeling thingy (it was spot on, but I'm used to my Fuzz Face) and tried the Masetro Fuzz Tone option. Maestro Fuzz sounds so weird, almost like a saxophone with no bottom end, kinda like bees in the speaker.

Here's a video of a good use of a real Maestro Fuzztone, and pretty much nails the sound:

And here's a demo of a clone:

Playing anything that sounds like a Maestro just makes you wanna play "Satisfaction", and if you have that and a Les Paul Standard and Blackface Fender amp, it's pretty much a bad idea if you don't.

The pedals are an aquired taste and not quite as immediately useful as a Tone Bender, but they are a great sound.
