I'm wondering if anyone on the forum bought one of those limited edition 360C63's that were released last year for the Japanese market, and if so, what your impressions are of the guitar. I've been dreaming of a Fireglo to match my 360/12C63!

Man, if I could find one of those. I have a 360/12c63 and it's just the stand out ric of my herd. A 6 would be God-Like.

It may be easier to find a used 360 WB in FireGlo.

Add some toasters and you're pretty close, for a LOT less cash.

MUCH further than you think, actually.

Aside from the obvious differences (21 frets instead of 24), the ONLY similarity is the "general" body shape and binding on both edges. I challenge you to find another similar spec between the two of em.

You are right collin I own boath 360v64 and a 36012wb made a tracing of the body shapes not even close. Also aside form the other many differences.

No "challenge" is necessary - I defer to your knowledge of Rickenbacker guitar specs.

I was only suggesting a possible alternative to a double-bound 6-string FireGlo guitar that is unavailable in the US, as 360 WB's (and V64's) are frequently seen on eBay. Obviously, there are specs between the 2 models that don't match up.

I do like the 360C63 6-strings. Like a few folks here, my only gripe about them was the erroneous use of the "R" tailpiece on something from '63. They also came with tuners previously found on 325C58 models. The names of those tuners slip my mind. Of course, if someone wanted to rectify the situation, they could simply get a Winfield Vintage Trapeze bracket to put over the R's holes, or an Accent vibrato. The 70s through 84 models have skinnier neck, and a more curved 9"-ish fretboard radius, as well as internal "X" bacing, which are other similarities, but that's only through `84, IIRC, and the tops are thicker than O.S. models.

The "R" tailpiece onthe Shinsedo C63s doesn't bother me; the "R" and the Trapeze are so interchangeably "Rick" to me that I don't take much notice of them either way. Also, as Jake pointed out, the Trapeze TP easily/readily is available, and without the need to drill holes, also as Jake pointed out.

FYI, Scott Baillie's noted that the "R" TP provides for more sustain than the Trapeze, which is another plus for the "R". I am not sure what year the "R" TP was introduced. Anyone?

In my case, I'd just install an Accent.

It's also better to have an "R" TP and not need it, than want/need one and not have it.

A little off topic,but as the trapeze tail was mentioned

Would the bracket for a regular trapeze work with the long trapeze tail piece that Winfield Vintage sells?
