i used to love this little band. the singer, juliana hatfield, was sort of an early 90"s "it" girl, also doubling as bassist and backup singer in The Lemonheads for a while.
she's still pretty active in music today. the drummer and guitarist, freda boner and john strohm formed Antenna, before kinda fading away. this little tune "out there," is very cutesy, but i've always liked it. she plays a Rick bass in this and also in their video for "temptation eyes," which was Not the wisest choice they could've covered for a single.

Juliana Hatfield is really great -- probably one of the under-rated talents of our time. Not under-rated to her fans, of course!

I always thought John was possibly the luckiest guy in music back in those days.
My Blake Babies music is all on cassette!!!!!!!

On the subject of the video:
I always thought it was cute that she had her shirt tucked in for the 3rd handstand. :)
Two beautiful girls agreed to CUT OFF THEIR HAIR for this clip. :(

yes, she has some good solo stuff. i bought everything up to her double release "beautiful creature" and "total system failure."

after that, i was so immersed in other bands i missed the following 3 albums. i think she just released a 4th one this year.

haha. yeah, i always noticed she tucked in the shirt! hahaha. i still have my "sunburn" cassette carefully preserved with a signed cassette for juliana's "hey babe' (met her in dallas texas in 1992). i had "earwig" and "rosy jack world" on tape as well, but those perished over time. all have been upgraded to the cd versions along with "god bless the blake babies" reunion record. the reunion tour was lovely. saw and met the band in san francisco in 2000 and now have a signed "sunburn" cd. john signed it "hallelujah, ten years!!" because that's how long i'd waited to see them live.
