Although the original piece is in Fm,for the sake of explaining in this lesson I played this first part in Em.

And the initial suggestions for improvising
(choosing notes aspect)

Chords:

Em (Eolian)
C (Lydian)
Am (Dorian)
F#m7/b5 (Am melodic scale)
B7 b9 (chains of b3ths from C )
