All this would need would be to be left in the hands of a decent luthier for a few days and once properly set up and possibly re-fretted or dressed, and you would have an awesome little guitar.

Epiphones are very underrated. I've got a Sheridan II that's wonderful that I picked up for a real bargain. Very cool guitar. This one is even fancier and if I'm any judge of UK prices this looks to be a steal. 8)

I recently picked up an Emperor Regent for even less than this guitar.
I must say, with some setup work, it doesn't sound bad at all for a cheap archtop.
In fact, it's become my favorite because of its rich acoustic sound (steel roundwounds) and very good playability.
It's no competition for $5000 archtops like some seem to claim though.

Too true, Kira. I've had a few Epi's, even a Masterbilt acoustic. They sound good and are built better than one might expect.

I have a couple of Epiphones in my small collection, a Cherry Burst Les Paul Standard and a FlameKat. They are both perfect for playing blues. I have nothing but praise for these quality instruments. They are well crafted and sound fantastic.

I don't care for the wine/black/gold look -but I LOVE the 3 P90/Bigsby/335-style combo.

And I would love to see what tones were lurking in this guitar.

I have an Emperor II - great guitar for the money.
The only issue I ever had with it was the floating bridge moved, but that was because I took of the 11-52s it was originally strung with and put on 10s.

Also, the fact that I am a ham fisted guitar punisher didn't help.

A little two sided tape - no problems.

I should really take it out again, it's been a long time since I played it.
