Another LA band that could often be seen playing at the Bito Lidos club in Hollywood. Led by singer Sky Saxon they are best known for their song Pushin Too Hard. The garage bands of this era started feeling the influence of folk rock and psych.. not the seeds so much..they stayed pretty close to their roots
The last time I saw the band was at all places, an assembly at San Marino (a VERY well to do area) High School that a friend had gotten myself, my future wife and a couple of my shady friends into to see. Part way into the show one of my friends yelled out for the band to play an instro song they did live called Acid...the band looked kinda uneasy at that point considering the venue..but did play the song which featured an extended feedback section ala mic to speaker cabinet....

As a little kid, I remember seeing The Seeds lip-syncing "Pushin' Too Hard" on the old TV show "The Mothers In Law" with Eve Arden and Kaye Ballard. At that time, that was one of the coolest things I'd ever seen on the tube!
