Post number 1:
The 30 post rule is really silly. If I wasn't a serious about Rickenbacker....I wouldn't be here.

That may be true for you, but there have been many who weren't...

The main point of this forum is not the sale section. Hang around a bit, ask a few questions, you'll hit 30 posts before you know it...

David the RRF is not a substitute for eBay or Craigs List. However, if you want to engage in friendly discourse with Rickenbacker owners this is the place to be. It is as simple as that.

David, welcome to the forum. There are many who have come here for their love of Rickenbacker instruments that have stayed around and become like family. We are a very welcoming and friendly group on this forum, which I hope you will find out and appreciate that.
There have been several who have just come here to take advantage of the kindness of the people of this forum and never share info of any type nor truly appreciate the people here and what they do.
It really doesn't take long to get to 30 posts.

David-----many other forums have a 50-post rule, so consider 30 an improvement.

It's to weed out people that drop by here all excited to sell their gear, then disappear without ever posting again. That's what Ebay is for, thank you very much.

If that seems unreasonable or silly to you-----don't let the door hitcha on the way out.

If i were in a more cynical mood, i'd have said, "so what/who cares?" And yep, this is not a charge-free version of eBay, this is a place for discussion.
Gee, i love that place. A new member comes & says in his first post that "rule is silly", and everyone's being kind and polite with him. Now how many places like this you can find on the Web?

Welcome David!

Hang a bit around - I've found the discussions and advice of the community here invaluable!
This is a great place to spend 30 posts - or more, I've seen many forums and this is the only one I stayed after 200 or so posts.
If you like Rickenbackers then you'll like this place!

Like Kenny and Collin said -- some other gear forums have tighter restrictions.

Wow! I didn't realize my comment would cause such a thread. Please try to find the humor in the fact that my first post was about the 30 post rule. If this keeps going...I'll burn through 30 just on this thread alone. :D
