Unique neck on 370/12 RM???

Just wondering if this guitar has a neck that's unique to this particular model. The neck seems to have a very comfortable feel, noticibly different than other 360 or 370 RIC 12's that I have played. I've not been able to find detailed specs on the RM neck. Does anyone on this forum have any knowledge of the fretboard radius, neck profile, width, etc.? Do the necks of the 1960's RIC 12's differ significantly from, say, the post 1980's RICs? There must be something different that makes the RM playability so comfortable.

Don't know about RMs in particular (and I doubt that the necks were different on that particular model), but the '60s necks in general were slimmer front-to-back, with a shallow "C" profile, and a very tight fretboard radius...somewhere around 6".

I've done a few re-radiusing jobs on later Rick 12ers, and playing comfort was noticeably improved, according to owners, with the tighter radius. I've also built a couple of acoustics with a so-called "vintage" radius, and owners like these, too!

Maybe Richard Bengston will chime in on this.

I think so, particularly on 12-string models, where you don't have to worry about it "fretting out" when you bend strings.

I don't think they are any different from a typical 360/12V64 neck of the same period....IMO the 360/12V64, the 370/12RM and the later 360/12CW used the same neck.....square heel and all.
