:?: :D Just curious. Now certainly we could have stretches of pop perfection in the form of minutes, but I'm just wondering about your few seconds of bliss. for whatever reason...part, tone, arrangement..etc.

Y'know, when you rewind a little to hear something over and over again.... I have many!!

two examples from me:
1. the half step change B to Bb on the bridge of "Things we said today"
2. After the drum break in Birthday when those chords come in!

'When I Get Home' ...from 1:25 to 1:34

'And then IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'll love her more 'til I walk out that door again'

Just magic. John's phrasing and tone on the last word echoes in the music of LOTS of other artists.

'Got To Get You Into My life' ...around 153 when the electric guitar comes in. Perfection.

'Let It Be' ...at the 2 minute mark when George's rosewood tele comes in. Perfection.

End of Everybody's Got Something to Hide...

Bass lick, sliding bar chords, drums re-enter with ride cymbal played right near the stand connection.

+1

Also, that little outro part on 'What You're Doing" (one of my fav. Beatles songs).

And I've always liked the part in "Strawberry Fields" where the strings come in.

Good topic!

George's ringing intro to "If I Needed Some One" is mine for today. Probably because I just got through playing the song down in the basement on my Rick 12.

The see sawing Cello lines in Eleanor Rigby. I love the mood and timbre that a Cello brings to a piece to begin with but the arrangement on this song is pure magic in the context of a pop song. There are many other brilliant memorable parts such as the lead in Something.

Oh, I have a couple more. The false start on "I'm Looking Through You" on the American version of Rubber Soul. The Mellotron that opens "Strawberry Fields" and the crazy fade out/fade ins on "Helter Skelter".

The half-step modulation from F#m to Gm for the guitar solo on "And I Love Her".
Georges solo on "Till There Was You".
The piano intro to "The Night Before"
Love 'em all!
