How about that! They broadcast that show on my 14th birthday. You kind of have to wonder if ol' Roger might have thought it was something of a waste of time or even just a big sham to mime their stuff. At least putting myself in that position, I know I'd feel that way.

A couple of good close ups of McGuinn's Byrd 370 pickguard, with the extra switches and knobs.

That appears to be a fuzzy version of the vid Christian posted in May.
The guitar Crosby is playing is an ES-340, like a 335 with block inlays; produced in natural finish and no varitone.
Michael Clarke looks like he's going to toss his cookies at 1:14.

Hadn't seen this one yet, so thanks for posting. You did have me wondering if I was watching a different version, as I didn't see any close-ups of the Ric until the last few seconds

It's actually quite good if you are into any jazz fusion kind of music. Think of it as a new original song with no Byrds connection.

I like the vocal harmony arrangement, which is a little more modern sounding to my ear....and pleasantly so.

Just my observation, formed as a youth during that period: it was no longer cool to be smiling teen pop idols, a new wave of bands was doing that schtick. The "veterans" (Byrds, Beatles, Airplane, etc.) pretty much played (lip-synched) with dull stoned looks. Not being a stoner, I still figured (at the time) that all these guys were on pot or acid. It wasn't cool to smile. It was cool to mock the process.
Heck, it wasn't cool to go to the Grammys if nominated!
