Hi - I used to be able to see the video links posted in the forum, but a little while ago I started getting just a little box with a couple of geometric symbols in it (see below) - any ideas as to what may have changed (a windows update?)? I can go to the links when provided, but just don't see the video link....

Hi Gil,
the direct links work it is just the imbed with the little play triangle/arrow is shown as per my screen shot. I'm thinking some kind of Windows or security update, but I haven't found the switch yet.

Have you tried Adobe's site to see if a Flash video appears:
http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
If not then you might need to (re)install it.

It must be some sort of a "security feature" as rrf does not actually host any of the movies but simply embeds them directly from youtube (that is - when you see the movie, you actually see it directly from youtube).

I had that problem with my old computer (replaced Nov '09). I ended up switching from Explorer to Firefox. In the mean time you can click on "Quote" and get the link to paste in your browser.

You still need the Flash plug-in, no matter where it's actually hosted.
Isn't there some setting in IE8 where one can turn off (or on) plug-ins?

Of course he needs the flash plug-in, but he said that the movie worked fine on youtube so he obviously has flash installed...

Flash is in and good... I was working months ago, so I am thinking security update somewhere along the lines. I'll play with the settings and see if I can figure it out.
