Why not offer a 360/12 c 65?

Why doesn't Rickenbacker reissue an accurate version of the 360/12 from 1965/ Why did they change it at all? Was it because of the problems with structural weakness at the neck joint? Do older 360/12 v64's and c63's exhibit the same weakness?

They basically did reissue then with the Carl Wilson and V67 models.
There are neck tenon issues with the older Rics, particularly 12-strings though IMO, this is largely due to poor-fitting neck tenons that didn't have a tight fit on the sides of the neck pocket.
The neck joins are much stronger these days.
The other spec changes (thicker tops, thicker necks, thicker finishes, 24 frets, hi gains etc) all had their various reasons--that's progress.
The other thing to consider is price. Would you buy a $3500+ reissue when you can still buy the original for about a grand more? I sure wouldn't.
