Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I just got a new 4003 JG. The bass plays and sounds incredible. The question I have is about the finish. From a distance it looks great, but up close you can see the swirl marks in the finish. I saw other posts about using scratch-x, but all I can find is scratch-x 2.0. Is this an acceptable substitute? Also their are several types of zymol wax available. They all seem to have pretty much the same ingrediants, but is one better than the other? Any input would be appreciated!

Welcome aboard! Scratch-X has changed to a more aggressive formula, but Swirl-X is the same old formula Scratch-X was. And Zymol is the blue formula.

I new John would have the answer!!!!!!!!!

Not sure where you're located, but Swirl-X is pretty easy to find at W*l M*rt or W*lgreens and likely many other places such as those. Zymol is a bit trickier to lay yer mitts on.

I've found the Zymol at both WalMart and Advance Auto Parts. It should be pretty easy to find, though pricey. $17 IIRC.

The good news is that for individuals using this stuff, it goes a REALLY long way. I bought mine two years ago and I doubt I've gotten halfway through either bottle.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. I'm located in Ft Myers FL. So far I checked Autozone and Target. I'll try Walgreens tomorrow. When I was at Autozone They had a bottle of Zymol liquid wax In a light blue/gray bottle. Would that be the one I need?

I found Zymöl at my local Target store in the automotive section. And I think they had the new Scratch-X, as well. I was hoping they'd have a bottle of the old formula left, but no luck So I just bought a bottle of Zymöl. Stuff smells pretty nice.

Paul W said that the Kit Scratch remover was another good replacement for the old Scratch-X formula. I think he also said his latest fave to replace the old Scratch-X formula is NuFinish Scratch Doctor for Clear Coat.

Wal-Mart tends to do a really good job of displaying this stuff prominently in their auto section. At least, back in MO they did.

And as other products come to my attention, I'll share the recommendations.

Still, the blue Zymol has no substitute that I'm aware of...still using it nearly a decade after I "discovered" it after auditioning a large box filled with waxes, on my deep blue British Luxury Car.
